Falstaff - Opera in Cinema
Recorded live in November, 2009. for Verdi's final opera, he chose a genre that he wasn't known for: the comic opera. Because of the light-hearted nature of Falstaff, Verdi allowed himself to let loose, exploring all sorts of musical by-roads he never bothered to take in his dramas.
Starring Ruggero Raimondi as Falstaff, Luca Salsi as Ford, Virginia Tola as Mrs. Alice Ford, and Liliana Mattei as Meg Page.
