DEAR PRESIDENT OBAMA, AMERICANS AGAINST FRACKING IN ONE VOICE (USA, 2015, Work-in-Progress, 45 min.) This is a direct appeal to the President, and to all elected officials, to carefully consider the growing evidence against hydraulic fracturing for oil and gas. Using interviews with scientists, economists, geologists and whistle-blowers, the film takes a cross-country look at fracking, highlighting its variety of contaminations, the stories of its victims and the false promise of an economic boom, with a focus on alternative energy solutions. Directed by Jon Bowermaster. Produced by Oceans 8 Films.
Discussion with filmmaker Jon Bowermaster; Food & Water Watch's Executive Director Wenonah Hauter, and Water Program Director Emily Wurth follows screening.
