Daddy Issues: Stories Told by a Son -- with Special Guest Samuel James
Written and performed by Peter Aguero
With Special Guest Samuel James
Peter Aguero, storyteller and host of The Moth, takes the audience through a raw and sympathetic look at his relationship with his father over the years. Through crippling honesty, brutal humor, and vivid reflection, Peter tackles the universal plight of not being able to pick your family.
Peter Aguero was born and raised in Southern New Jersey. He is a Moth GrandSLAM champion and an instructor for The Moth Community Program. He performs, hosts, and produces storytelling, burlesque, and variety shows all over NYC. His most recent show, Daddy Issues, has been performed in Philadelphia, Vermont, DC, Las Vegas, Memphis, Huntsville, and the Edmonton International Fringe Festival. "simply, perfectly moving"
"While life stories like this are potentially gripping, no one did it better this year than New York City's Peter Aguero in Daddy Issues at Walterdale Theatre."
Vue Weekly 4 STARS
"Aguero conquers the topic with neither hostility nor resentment, opting instead for humor and compassion. Alone at the mic, he paints a fascinating picture of rejection and personal growth."
