David Finckel, Wu Han, and Philip Setzer Schubertiad
Franz Schubert wrote two piano trios near the end of his short life. Each by itself is a powerful work that thrills listeners with the expansive emotions of Schubert's romantic expression. When both works are performed by three of the world's top chamber music artists in one program, it is a concert you won't want to miss and won't soon forget. Wu Han ranks among the most esteemed and influential classical musicians in the world today. Actively performing with orchestras and major festivals, such as Aspen and Santa Fe, is only part of her active career. Along with husband David Finckel they are Artistic Directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York. Cellist David Finckel and his colleague Philip Setzer, violin, are colleagues in the Emerson String Quartet. In addition to the demanding concert schedule of the quartet, Finckel and Setzer are also active soloists and chamber musicians.
