Tokyo String Quartet
Ensemble Music Society welcomes the return of a long time friend of Indianapolis audiences. The Tokyo String Quartet, which has captivated audiences and critics alike since it was founded 40 years ago, returns for their first Indianapolis concert in over a decade. Regarded as one of the supreme chamber ensembles of the world, the Tokyo Quartet has appeared on our series more times than any other artist we have ever presented. Martin Beaver, a Laureate of the 1990 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, joined the quartet in 2002 as first violin. The other members of the quartet are Kikuei Ikeda (violin), founding member Kazuhide Isomura (viola) and Clive Greensmith (cello).
