A Cathedral Christmas: "Through a Child's Eyes"
Now an annual tradition, we again present our seasonal holiday concert, A Cathedral Christmas, in Seattle and on the Eastside. The theme this year is "Through a Child's Eyes," and is geared toward our younger listeners. This December, we will welcome the award-winning Seattle Girls Choir for John Rutter's enchanting Mass of the Children. Eric Whitacre's Winter will feature the Northwest sitar virtuoso, Josh Feinberg, in this evocative sound painting of snow, wind and light. A carol sing-along precedes this program of holiday delights.
Featured music:
Mass of the Children by John Rutter
Winter by Eric Whitacre (first Seattle performance)
Go Tell It On the Mountain
The Very Best Time of Year
We Wish You a Merry Christmas
Plan to arrive one hour before the start of the program, and members of the Seattle Choral Company will be there to provide you and your family with information and exhibits about our program music. Then, one-half hour prior, Maestro Freddie Coleman will lead you in a carol sing-along.
