TownMusic: So Percussion
Since forming at the Yale School of Music in 1999, So Percussion (Eric Beach, Josh Quillen, Adam Sliwinski, and Jason Treuting) has been creating music that is raucous and subtle, barbarous and refined. Called an "experimental powerhouse" by the Village Voice, "astonishing and entrancing" by Billboard Magazine, and "brilliant" by The New York Times, the Brooklyn-based quartet's innovative work with todayâs most exciting composers, plus its own original music, has won the foursome international acclaim. Tonight's program will feature the influence and compositions of Steve Reich (Music for Pieces of Wood) and John Cage (Child of Tree and 3rd Construction), as well as Selections from So's Imaginary City and Treutingâs Amid the Noise.
