Science: Robert Michael Pyle: Chasing Butterflies
There are 800 species of butterflies in America, so naturally, naturalist Bob Pyle raced across the country to find as many as he possibly could in one year. Accompanied by his butterfly net, his 1982 Honda Civic, and the small Leitz binoculars hes carried for more than 30 years, Pyle, author of the classic Chasing Monarchs and the new Mariposa Road, journeyed into the heart and fringes of butterfly country, and into close-up encounters with the land, its people, and its fading fauna. Presented as part of Seattle Science Lectures, with Pacific Science Center and University Book Store. Series sponsored by Microsoft. Series media sponsorship provided by KPLU.
