The Way We Danced 'Til Three
Choreography by jaema joy berry
The Way We Danced 'Til Three is a new contemporary dance work set to the music and lyrics of George and Ira Gershwin. The movement showcases the ups and downs of modern romantic relationships from flirty texting to reading personal ads to holding hands and is at different times humorous and poignant, and always honest. The current context of the subject matter contrasts the show's soundtrack; the music was written in the '20s and '30s and recorded over the past 75 years, from Fred Astaire wooing Ginger Rogers in 1937 films to new arrangements created for the project. The audience will follow a cast of young men and women as they get together, fall in love, tell their friends, and sometimes lose something very dear.
