Earthmusic: Pacific Rims Percussion Quartet in Concert
The resplendence and mystery of the natural world is the theme for this Springtime concert featuring the Pacific Rims Percussion Quartet. As new life burgeons around us, we can hear echoes in Reich's Dance Patterns, the patter song of life-giving rain in Takemitsu's Rain Tree, and the fragility of earth in Rzewski's ode To The Earth performed on clay flower pots. Adams builds on the rich oral story traditions and instruments of Native Americans for Coyote Builds North America and Crumb closes the evening wondering at the "cosmic drama" of the starry expanse of the night sky in Music for a Summer Evening.
