Founder and artistic director Pranita Jain leads Kalapriya in it's mission to celebrate the cultures of India as influenced by contemporary American culture and to do so without losing the unique essence that defines the Indian Diaspora.
Tri Dhara (Three Streams) a rich tapestry of Indian music and dance will feature three dance traditions of India; Bharata Natyam, Kathak and Odissi. Pranita Jain and Kalapriya Dancers will perform the traditional storytelling dance Bharata Natyam. Bhavani Lee will be dancing Kathak with its improvisational jazz like quality. The three dance styles will be presented in a way that blends and showcases each dance tradition for it's own beauty in a flowing river of movement that brings the three streams together on stage for Tri Dhara.
