When Shiva's name is spoken, it conjures images of a tiger skin clad, masculine God with wild locks that flow like the Ganges, with the power to destroy his enemies with one glance from the fires of his third eye, and with the ability to leave the world in ashes. But there is so much more to the Lord of Dance. He has all those attributes that we expect-- valor and anger. But he also amazes, loves passionately and deeply, feels compassion, disgust and even fear. In meditation, he is liberated and at peace.
This year, Neena Gulati and the Triveni Ensemble present "Navarasa: The Nine Moods" where all attributes of Shiva, from the resonating to the subtle, are explored. This year's performance promises technical footwork that will make the earth tremble as well as emotional depth that will move your soul.
Please join the Triveni Ensemble at the Boston University Dance Theater on Friday April 10th at 8:00pm and Saturday April 11th at 4:00pm. Parking is available at Lot A under the Agannis Arena. Email TriveniEnsemble@gmail.com with any questions. Proceeds will benefit the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation.
