JUST COME TO THE THEATRE BOX OFFICE. IT'S "PAY WHAT YOU CAN"
In 1971, two musicals, rooted in stories from the Bible, debuted in New York City and took the theatrical landscape by storm - Andrew Lloyd Webber's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and Stephen Schwartz' GODSPELL.
Now, thirty years later, a new musical, based on the writings and drawings of children from around the world, stands ready to bring its uplifting spiritual message to the stage.
BROADWAY BOUND is returning to the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Center at Rainier Beach High School this Summer to present a world premiere staging of a new musical, directed by Broadway Bound's founder and Executive Artistic Director, Jimmy Nixon, and choreographed by Sonia Dawkins. The show will be an all-city teen summer stock production.
The musical was born out of the tragedy of 9/11, and is based on books by Dr. Robert J. Landy, head of the Drama Therapy program at New York University, who interviewed over five hundred children from different cultures, races and religions. The insights and visions of these young spiritual thinkers are funny, moving, entertaining and enlightening.
