Burlesque Classes in SF! Drag & Go-Go!
All classes are open to students of any age or gender who want to shake it on stage or in the bedroom. No previous dance or performance experience is required. Space is very limited and reservations are strongly encouraged.
*****The tickets available here are deposits for the class there will be an additional fee will be due the day of class in cash.
Those who reserve through Brown Paper Tickets will receive a discount and only owe $5 day of class (a $10 discount!)
AUG 10TH- DRAG HEAD TO TOE WITH SUPPOSITORI SPELLING
Suppositori Spelling is the internationally prominent San Francisco personality, consistently raising (and intentionally lowering) the bar for the alternative drag scene since 1997.
Since her crowning of the Ms. Trannyshack 2002 title, some of her many career highs include performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Scotland, in 2007) and Glastonbury Festival (England, in 2007) & 2009; a starring role as Jeremy Starr in the upcoming feature film "The Rise And Fall Of Jeremy Starr" (2009); and emceeing at the Folsom Street Fair in 2007 and scheduled for 2009.
Suppositori's inception, production and weekly hosting of the annoyingly popular Cocktailgate has been putting a spell on her audiences at Truck Bar each Sunday since 2007.
Think drag is a far cry from burlesque; think burlesque and drag are much different from acting? Think again! Suppositori Spelling will take you through different processes of character development and portrayal. Learn specific and fun practices to convince your audience that you ARE that vicious vixen or demure damsel.
AUG 24TH PEPPERMINT TWIST- GO-GO MOVES WITH RUBY WHITE AND LADY SATAN: Learn the art of the shimmy and shake with co-producer of Sugar Shack SF, Lux and Ruby's Burlesque A-Go-Go in LA and resident go-go dancer for LA's infamous 60s dance party, Satisfaction and San Francisco's Teenage Dance Craze. Learn traditional 60's moves as well as techniques for keeping it go-go-ing all night long. Ruby White continues to be a force on the dance floor and behind the turn tables. You can find this groovy gal on just about every go-go box and bar top in San Francisco!
