HAM 1 -Tim Chad and Sherry and Suttree
Ham 1 - It is fitting that this band should find a home on the record label with ties to the Elephant 6 collective as the relaxed , rickety sound of this album fits nicely alongside such lynchpin bands as Neutral Milk Hotel and The Olivia Tremor Control .
Fresh off an appearance at All Tomorrow's Parties in Minehead, England with friends, Pavement, Tim Chad and Sherry is busy this summer sharing their debut, studio LP, "Baby We Can Work It Out" with the world. What started as a self recorded project for fun, Tim Chad and Sherry took further root when Pavement drummer, Bob Nastanovich , released Tim Chad and Sherry's debut, diy ep. It was sold during Silver Jews' inaugural tour and is now out of print. Songwriter, Brian Kotzur, played drums for Silver Jews and was an influential part of their latter albums. When the Jews halted the band in early '09, Kotzur went back to work finishing "Baby We Can Work It Out" in early '10.  Brian Kotzur can be seen in Harmony Korine's latest work, "Trash Humpers," as well as the popular Budweiser ad campaign in Europe "True Dedication."
Suttree was born in late 2005 / early 2006 and consists of members of Asheville noise-psych darlings, the Labiators (Chad McRorie - Guitar/Vocals, Paul Parsons - Lead Guitar, Christian Riel - Bass, Miles George - Drums). After a decade of blowing eardrums and minds, they decided to quiet the amps and slow things down a bit. The idea was to create their warped idea of a modern Lee and Nancy backed by a lovely, yet sinister desert psych noir band. To complete this vision they enlisted the talents and friendships of vocalist, Rebeccah Mark, multi-instrumentalist organ player, Lauren Davis and guitarist Erich Hubner (of Man or Astroman and The Hellsayers). Together they've created a sound that has been called "sun-faded, leathery, fairly sinister country" (Terminal Boredom) and "great music for Sunday evenings in the summer around dusk with a mason jar full of liquor at your side" (Dusted Magazine).
