Polaroid Stories
For it's third season, the Young Americans' Theatre Company presents Polaroid Stories by Naomi Iizuka as its mainstage production. Polaroid Stories will be directed by current Artistic Director Emma Kelley. This cutting edge script blends a modern interpretation of Ovid's Metamorphosis with an exploration of the life teenagers live on the streets. A searingly blunt and beautifully visceral piece, Polaroid Stories unites interviews with real homeless adolescents and slam poetry to create a love story unlike any other. Meditating on what home means to those who eternally wander, it begs the question: on whom do we depend for survival, and from whom do we forever seek escape? The production will integrate both film and music to fully serve Iizuka's text. Cast includes (in alphabetical order): Maddie Daviss, Simone Gabriel-Scherief, Meme Garcia, Elias Higham, Lester Jacobson, Josh James, Ron Nelson, Emma Sinai-Yunker, and Sam Tilles.
Recommended for ages 15 and up due to mature content and topics.
