Desiring God: Look at the Book Conference
There's no book like the Bible.
Pastor John Piper, of Desiring God, says:
"For most of my pastoral life, I heralded the wonders of what I saw in the Bible.
I tried to do this in such a way that people could see that the wonders really did
come from the Bible, and not from me. But I seldom focused on how I saw the
spectacular truths of Scripture. My preaching and writing aimed mainly to bring
people to a banquet, not take them into the kitchen.
When I think of the coming generations, I am not content to only leave them a
deposit of books and sermons that celebrate the glories of God and the wonders
of Christian Hedonism. I have a new and focused passion to help people really
see the riches of God's word for themselves, and that has new and exciting
implications for me and for the ministry of Desiring God.
Our main aim will be to create habits of mind and ways of seeing the Bible that
help you find the riches of Scripture for yourselves. We really believe that serious
Christians can see more wonders in God's word than they ever thought they
could. Look at the Book is our effort to bring that belief to life for you."
Look at the Book is a new method of teaching the Bible. John Piper will walk us
through texts of Scripture, while we watch his pen underline, circle, make
connections, and scribble notes all to help us learn to study God's word for
understanding, application, and transformation.

The conference sessions will be a combination of an interactive Lab tutorial and conventional preaching.

Will you offer childcare for the Look at the Book conference?
No, we will not be able to facilitate childcare for this conference, but there will be a parents room available with video streaming of the conference for those with fussy or crying babies.
Location and Parking?
The conference will be held at our church building, The Centre: 777 Homer St. in downtown Vancouver
There are lots of parking lots nearby.
Can I register for only part of the conference?
You are welcome to attend partial sessions, but there is only full conference registration available.
Will the conference be live streamed?
There are no plans to live stream the conference.
I registered but I can't attend. What is the refund policy?
We are not providing refunds for this event, but you may give your ticket to a friend.
