Lincoln Crockett: Lucky Lincoln and Friends
Singer-songwriter Lincoln Crockett returns to Portland for August show
Last fall singer-songwriter and mandolin wiz Lincoln Crockett packed up his family for a nine-month odyssey to the Far East, including four months in Thailand. He's back, renewed and ready to sing and play for Northwest audiences again, starting with a show Friday, August 13, 6:30pm at Alberta Street Pub. Lincoln's invited a supporting cast of old musical friends, including Garett Brennan, Alexa Wiley, Will West and Brad Creel to join him on stage.
Crockett's unique approach allows him to accompany himself on mandolin, mixing lightning-fast picking with driving rhythm, and serving up sweet melodies supported by lush chording.
After years as a supporting cast member for numerous group projects, Crockett's career began in earnest with the release of his first full-length album, "Angels and Devils Alike". The album has generated a small, committed following. "Angels and Devils Alike" revealed the depth, power and stunning musicality of Crockett's own work. Audiences noticed and the release concert sold out before the doors opened. His song "When Will You Come Home" was featured on local FM radio. Another, "Sawdust Settler" appeared on compilations benefiting regional charities.
Brennan, Wiley, West and Creel are all headliners in their own right, and will join Crockett in duets and group efforts during the show.
Tickets are $12 at the door or $9.99 advance via Brown Paper Tickets.
