Youth Mental Health First Aid in Stokes County
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training in Stokes County (YMHFA)
February 23 24, 2015 | 12:30 p.m. 5:00 p.m. Location: Stokes County Cooperative Extension Auditorium | 700 North Main St. Danbury, NC 27016 This two-day informative training will teach adult participants how to assist an adolescent in a mental health crisis. Trainees will learn how to assess a mental health crisis and identify the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents ages 12-18. YMHFA training is no-cost, and is intended for parents, school staff of any variety, youth leaders, probation and/or court officials, clergy and non-licensed human service professionals. YHMFA is backed by CenterPoint Human Services, the Mental Health Association (MHA) in Forsyth County, and the Juvenile Justice Substance Abuse Mental Health Partnership. Training materials and light refreshments will be provided. Participants will receive an YMHFA Certification upon successful completion of the course.
