Join us for a fun hands-on SUSHI cooking class! You will learn how to roll different varieties that are healthy, easy and veggie-friendly to impress your family and friends! You'll learn about the connections between Asian food and culture, language, history and hear Natalie's funny and insightful "Buddha-to-Bubba" family stories of growing up as the only Asian kid in school in Smyrna, Georgia. Come eat, shop and explore with Chinese Southern Belle! About Natalie and Chinese Southern Belle, LLC Natalie Keng is a marketing/public relations consultant, writer, entrepreneur and Atlanta native who excels in helping organizations adapt to a changing world--from creating new alliances and tapping new global markets to integrating sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility. Her parents immigrated to Atlanta for graduate study in the 1960's (Georgia Tech and Georgia State, respectively). Through her website, blog and events, Natalie promotes cultural understanding, civic engagement and healthy living.
As a graduate of Vassar College and the Harvard Kennedy School, Natalie has extensive experience in social and environmental marketing, teaching diversity, leadership development and has served as a publicly-elected official. She also has a passion for cooking, eating and learning about different cultures. To "open minds, one mouth at a time," Natalie founded Chinese Southern Belle, LLC in 2009, a unique mother-daughter business that features Asian market tours, interactive cooking and cultural workshops and special group events.
Chinese Southern Belle has been featured at Cook's Warehouse, Whole Foods Market, Taste of Atlanta (Kids Stage), Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute and in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, People TV and Georgia Public Radio, among other media. Natalie is currently working on a cultural cookbook, a book on the Asian American experience and a documentary that traces her family's "Buddha to Bubba" immigrant journey from China to America's Deep South.
