Liliana is forced to leave her family in Romania for work in Italy to support her family. Her six children, aged 6 to 16, live by themselves in a tiny apartment. She won't return until the summer. During her mom's absence, Georgiana, the eldest, is head of the family. Turning 16 this winter, we see her adolescence cut short by responsibilities. Phone conversations with Mom are her only lifeline. Unfettered by the filmmakers' presence, we're part of an intimate family journey always aware of the fragility of their daily balance.
