The Valley Collegiate Players and the LAVC Department of Theater Arts presents THE CRUCIBLE by Arthur Miller.
In Salem, Massachusetts in 1692, nineteen people (and two dogs) were hanged under the suspicion of "witchcraft." It was not until 1711 that the provincial court made a formal apology and acknowledged the miscarriage of justice. THE CRUCIBLE is the dramatized and fictionalized story of this peculiar history in our country. It's the story of the implosion of a community in changing times.
The VCP production of THE CRUCIBLE is produced, directed, designed, acted and crewed entirely by Valley College students. Matt McLaughlin is the director, Ben Hernandez the producer; Rachel Sonski is Production Stage Manager, and Steven Montoya and Anna Leslie are the Assistant Stage Managers. Costume Design is by Samantha Jaffrey and Jeanie Hammelman, Scenic Design by Sam Pino, Lighting Design by Tony Cruz-Ventura. The Technical Director is Victor Gonzalez and Props Mistress is Victoria Rubio.
The cast includes LAVC students Austin Boyce, Amy Lynn Perea, Ann Kriss, Becky Paz, Deanna Fernandez, Ceanna Van Eaton, Charlotte Marcoulis, Dwain Duran, Gilbert Ruiz, Karla Romo, Leslie Lua, Lisa-Marie Woods, Mark Belisle, Mary Onyango, Mike Rivas, Nick Goodreau, Peter Nuoffer, Rene Nadres, Vincent Smith, Vira Sovyuk, and Yoni Wela.
