Trudy J. Sundberg Memorial Lecture Series Luncheon with Bob Whitsitt
Have you ever wondered what really happens behind the scenes of your favorite pro sports team? You know that what you read is only half the story.
Join Seattle sports personality Bob Whitsitt for a no-holds barred look at how professional sports really work. "Trader Bob" Whitsitt was named the most influential figure in Northwest professional sports by Washington CEO Magazine, and spent 17 seasons as an NBA President and General Manager, building teams in Seattle and Portland that made the playoffs sixteen times. As President of the Seattle Seahawks from 1997 through early 2005 he negotiated the acquisition of the team for Paul Allen, and led a successful statewide referendum that secured $300 million in public funding for what is now known as CenturyLink Field.
Bob has led a fascinating career in professional sports, and now you can join him for an exclusive luncheon that will include his presentation and Q&A, as well as the opportunity to bid on a round of golf with Bob.
All proceeds benefit The Trudy J. Sundberg Memorial Lecture Series, which will honor the memory of one of Whidbey Island's and Washington State's iconic luminaries, The Series will reflect Trudy's passion for politics, knowledge, literature, and history. The annual event will include presentations from the best minds in the country, and extra events related to the lecture topics.
This event is presented by the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation. If you can't attend but would like to make a donation to the Lecture Series, please visit www.sno-isle.org/applications/foundation/ and select "Trudy J. Sundberg Memorial Lecture Series" under the donation options menu.
