Ingrid Betancourt: Lessons from Captivity
In 2002, while campaigning in the Colombian presidential elections, Ingrid Betancourt was abducted by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. She spent the next 6Â years in the jungle as a prisoner. Freed in 2008 by the Colombian army, Betancourt, author of Even Silence Has an End, now sheds light on the plight of hostages and victims of terrorism through lessons in courage, resilience, and humanity. Presented by The Town Hall Center for Civic Life, with Elliott Bay Book Company. Series media sponsorship provided by Publicola. Series supported by The Boeing Company Charitable Trust, and the RealNetworks Foundation.
