Updating The Stem Cell Divide: A documentary film & panel discussion
All eyes were on Missouri in 2006, when media from around the world streamed in as voters, patients, religious leaders, politicians even celebrities considered the scientific, political and cultural underpinnings of the search for cures.
On Aug. 24, the J will team with the St. Louis Jewish Film Festival, Hadassah, Triumph Documentaries and the Missouri Coalition for Lifesaving Cures to screen The Stem Cell Divide, a film-festival favorite that introduces us to the people, passions and motivations that led to passage of the Missouri Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative. After viewing the film you will understand much more about embryonic stem cell research and its potential to affect every American family. A panel discussion after the documentary will focus on scientific advances achieved since the 2006 campaign and political reverberations still felt today.
