MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: Charles Crowley in "FROM TORCH TO TIKI WITH A TWIST OR TWO"
Charles the Cosmopolitan Crooner takes you on a journey celebrating late 1940s to 1960s lounge music, from Vegas to Latin America to Paris to the South Pacific... with a couple of surprise stops along the way. Singer, actor and musician Charles Crowley has performed for many years in musical theater, cabaret, opera and operetta productions in the Puget Sound area, and as a clarinetist in multiple instrumental ensembles. Charles has performed in several cabarets and as part of 2013's March Is Cabaret Month. Music director and accompanist: Susan Bardsley.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: Helene Smart in "SWEET ANTICIPATION"
Celebrating the cocktail hour, and the sweet anticipation that comes from putting the day's work aside and imagining what lies ahead. Helene Smart has been entertaining sold-out cabaret audiences for the past decade ever since she discovered the joy of combining her love of words with her love of music and sharing the result with others. Her skills have been honed at the best of the Diva Camps including the International Cabaret Conference at Yale, Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Center, and work with Andrea Marcovicci and other cabaret greats. Music director and accompanist: John Engerman.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: Karen Skrinde in "ANN MARGARITA - ON THE ROCKS"
A look back at Ann-Margarita's career, the good and the bad, all served as her life has played out on the rocks. Karen has been an actress and singer for over 25 years. She has appeared at ACT, Village Theatre, Oregon Cabaret Theatre, Tacoma Actors Guild, among others, and has been a regular at the 5th Avenue Theatre. Karen was one of the three creators of the cabaret series at the late, great Thumpers Restaurant and she has also appeared as a soloist at the Inverse Opera, the Crepe de Paris, the Moisture Festival, and at Egan's. Music director and accompanist: Scott Warrender.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: Robyn Spangler in "RIDDLE, RONSTADT & ROBYN"
This show celebrates the big bands, big dresses and big hair. What goes together better than a cocktail and a Nelson Riddle arrangement? Playbill Pick and Broadway World Award Winner Robyn Spangler celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Nelson Riddle / Linda Ronstadt collaboration of the Great American Songbook singing from the three albums "What's New," "Lush Life," and "For Sentimental Reasons." Ms. Spangler has enjoyed a career in singing as well as commercials, stage and television. Music director and accompanist: Todd Schroeder. www.robynspangler.com
