Literary Death Match NYC, Ep. 28
How many words are there for "gauntlet"? That's a question for the wordsmiths we've summoned to the battlefield for LDM NYC ep. 28. Get ready to retire your rhymes, hang up your hyperbole, and prepare for a poetry explosion.
Three fearless judges will stoke the smokin' literary bonfire: mega-watt poet Jeff McDaniel (Best American Poetry 1994 and New (American) Poets), high priestess of visual wordplay Kay Rosen (MoMA, The Whitney Museum, The New Museum) and slam master flash Lynne Procope.
And our readers . . . well, these aren't your Grandma's poets. Sparks will fly between sonic spinner and chihuahua lover C.S. Carrier (After Dayton, Lyric, and The 16s), one-man soul train Jon Sands, the "hilariously spunky" poetess Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz, Founder of the Urbana Poetry Slam series, and verse virtuoso Michael Morse (The Iowa Review, Ploughshares).
Hosted by: LDM NYC Exec Producer Ann Heatherington and Melissa Broder, author of When You Say One Thing But Mean Your Mother, and creator of The Polestar Poetry Series.
