5 Years,...Are We on Track? 10th Annual Creating the Political Will to End Homelessness event
We will examine whether the current efforts to end homelessness are on track, and what might be necessary to put us more fully on course. Two keynoters will present. In the morning The Rev. David Bloom, founding director of the ITFH, will speak on where we have been, where we are, and more, where we must go. In the afternoon, Richard LeMieux, author of "Breakfast at Sally's," will share his experience. Between these keynotes we will repeat 7 workshops: 1) What's the Big Picture? 2) Is There the Political Will to End Homelessness? 3) Youth at Risk 4) What Barriers Impede Stability? 5) What About Families? 6) Housing Tonight? 7) Faith Communities: Where to Start? How to Advance? During the afternoon we will revisit our statement of commitment to end homelessness and conclude by "taking action." Lunch included. Sliding scale donation requested of $35, lowered to $25 for registration prior to Aug. 15th. Partial and full scholarships available.
