The Templeton Expedition: "Death in the Desert" Fundraising Gala
July 1937--
Dear Sir or Madam:
Please allow me to formally introduce myself. I am the illustrious Dr. Stanley Templeton, Professor of Archaeology at Oxford University. You may have undoubtedly read of my exploits the world over. As an eminent archaeologist, I have traveled to the ends of the planet, unearthing many amazing historical discoveries.
I have recently discovered the find of the century, the lost tomb of King Niter Ohum'us, at an undisclosed location in Santa Ana, Egypt. The tomb may contain riches which rival or surpass those of Howard Carter's discovery of King Tut's tomb, fifteen years ago. At present, the Templeton Expedition is in of need investors to sponsor this season's dig.
You, as a potential backer to the expedition, are personally invited to tour the newly discovered temple. I have chartered several vessels to take you up the Nile to the top secret dig site.
A venture of this kind is not for the faint of heart. This excursion holds danger and hardships. But there is also the possibility of finding riches beyond your wildest dreams.
The steam launches depart from Cairo, berth 22, at the Heritage Museum of Orange County at 5:30pm, September 25, 1937(2010).
You and your party, as potential investors of the Templeton Expedition, will join us in this bold historic adventure, and claim the honor and glory that can be yours.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stanley Templeton, Ph.D.,
Oxford University
