SEX RATED G: A One Woman Show With a Man In It
Lisa Verlo engages in a one hour show with the assistance of Christopher Allport as they explore, through song, soliloquy, poetic rant, and theatrical discourse, the subject of sex and all its connotations.
Lisa Verlo is a poet, songwriter, and performance artist whose songs have been featured on film and TV. Born in Flint, Michigan, Verlo was raised in France, the Philippines, and South Dakota, offering her a broad perspective on culture and societal concerns. With a background in fashion design, window display, acting, and performance art, Lisa began singing a cappella and reading poetry in Los Angeles coffee houses and performing her original works in feature films. Lisa was included in the anthology "News Clips and Ego Trips: A Poet's Companion", documenting her involvement as a touring poet in the 90s Southern California poetry scene. After recording a CD of spoken word and music, Lisa teamed up with composer/guitarist Frank Simes on a CD of Children's music. Finding ultimate collaboration creating musicals, Verlo and Simes staged "The Door" at the Sierra Madre Playhouse in 2012. An ever evolving Renaissance woman, Lisa Verlo draws on a variety of media to convey her aesthetic insight and humanitarian interests.
Christopher Allport stared as Julian Wilder in Lisa and Frank's musical "The Door", and has dazzled audiences from Paris to Poland, across the Italian Peninsula, and the United States as a versatile actor, director, and tenor. Christopher won the Gold Medal at the Park City Film Music Festival for his directorial debut film, "Life is too Short to Sing Badly". From his early contract player days at Disney, live performances with Barbra Streisand, LA Opera, LA Master Chorale, LA Philharmonic, his animated body of work, The Bilderberg Club, Hook, and Pirates of the Caribbean, to his own directorial vision, Allport truly enjoys the collaborative spirit that is the heart and art of glorious performance, moving audiences to feel something deeper.
