NYCDAT goes "Loco for Local": Artisanal Food and Craft Beer Pairing
Herbivore? Carnivore? Locavore! In honor of Good Beer Month*, Mary Izett and Chris Cuzme of The New York City Degustation Advisory Team go "Loco for Local" and pair a variety of local artisanal foods with local craft beers to make mouth parties of delectable bliss.
Pairings will include such local beauties as Russ & Daughters house cured bacon, Rick's Picks, Salvatore Ricotta Cheese, Mast Brothers Chocolate... as well as perhaps a couple never before seen treats. Also making a fresh appearance will be the Official Beer of Good Beer Month*, a smoke ale brewed by Sixpoint Craft Ales (to be debuted one day prior, at www.meatopia.org).
This will be held in two sessions (subject to change contingent upon interest): Session I: 6:30pm to 7:45pm Session II: 8:15pm to 9:30pm
NYDCAT is dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of craft beer through creative and delectable food pairing.
Mary Izett is a certified beer judge by the BJCP and currently writes for Ale Street News, is President Emeritus of The Malted Barley Appreciation Society (MBAS), and is behind the online blogsite www.mylifeoncraft.com. Chris Cuzme is current President of the MBAS, VP of The New York City Homebrewers Guild, Ass't Director of NY Craft Beer Week, and is heavily involved in the start up brewery: Wandering Star (www.wanderingstarbrewing.com).
*At the request of The Good Beer Seal (www.goodbeerseal.com) July has been declared Good Beer Month by the Mayor of New York City!
