American Institute of Wine and Food: Rooftop Tea Party! Tasting From Teas to Cocktails
Rooftop Tea Party! Tasting From Teas to Cocktails.
The AIWF is pleased to announce the Organic Tea Tasting Series and cordially invites you to our first event!
Join us for a tea cocktail reception on the Zen roof overlooking the High Line.
At this gathering, conducted by Jacques Doassans and Barbara Tagliaferro, we will discover the history and secrets of the wonderful world of teas. Focusing primarily on black teas, we will taste a Darjeeling, an Oolong, and a Lapsang Souchong, all from The Tea Set collection.
Jacques Doassans, originally from France, founder of The Tea Set Inc. in New York City, is certified from the SPECIAL TEA INSTITUTE. Carefully using only organic teas, and fair trade when possible, he has created over 100 original and exclusive blends for The Tea Set line of teas. His social awareness led him to found Global Women Help, a not-for-profit created to help women in need from developing countries. Jacques will open a restaurant/shop/tea place in The West Village. Top awarded chef Jean Louis Dumonet, President of the Maitres Cuisiniers de France, will be in charge of the cuisine.
Barbara Tagliaferro is an Argentinean Food Anthropologist with several years of experience in teaching and research at the University of Buenos Aires and at the Argentinean Wine School. She has assisted in tea and wine events in Buenos Aires and here in New York City. She is currently involved in various nutrition education programs at the not-for-profits City Harvest and Just Food.
