Vanishing of the Bees with guest speaker Common Acre
Vanishing of the Bee
Synopsis This documentary examines the alarming disappearance of honeybees and the greater meaning it holds about the relationship between mankind and mother earth. As scientists puzzle over the cause, organic beekeepers indicate alternative reasons for this tragic loss. Conflicting options abound and after years of research, a definitive answer has not been found to this harrowing mystery.
Common Acre and the Flight-Path Project Director of Common Acre and owner of the Urban Bee Company, Bob Redmond, will discuss how the Flight Path Project is fighting colony collapse by using airport land to bring back the pollinators and help create a more local and balanced food system in the Seattle area.
