Past Curfew: A Festival of One-Acts
Four new one-act plays that stretch expectations and tackling honest subject matter which resonates with teenage audiences. Dancing on Checker's Grave, written by Eric Lane and directed by Sylvie Baldwin, follows the interaction of two adolescent girls as they explore the complexities of their identities, in the world and with each other. Newcomers Gillian Friedman and Maddie Daviss star. Leigh Huggins helms A Body of Water by Neena Beber featuring company favorites Zoey Belyea and Tallis Moore. In a fluid style, the play examines how the choices we make as young adults influence our lives, while the moments over which we suffer are all too quickly forgotten. Mpls., St. Paul written by Julia Jordan and directed by Zoey Belyea follows two teenagers discovering that sometimes, your love for someone occurs to you after it's already there; the cast includes Erin Bednarz. Finally, Tallis Moore stages Shades by Mark Harvey Levine, starring Trevor Atwood, Claire Corddry, and Augie Urschel. A romping dorm-room comedy, the piece explores the primal humor relationships breed.
Recommended for ages 14 and up due to mature subject matter.
