Local Roots NYC Supper Club Dinner and Speaker Series: Anarchy In a Jar

Join us for our exciting new supper club series. This winter we will invite special guests to speak in an intimate dinner setting. Diners will have an opportunity to share a meal with guests like MacArthur Genius award winner Cheryl Rogowski, the man behind sustainably driven Boerum Apparel and small batch producers from around the city.

This is a wonderful chance to get cozy with the people making a difference in our local food system and the sustainable movement. A brief introduction will be followed by an informal discussion around our guest's place in the sustainable food movement. Our guest will then take a seat amongst diners for a seasonally driven, multi course meal to ensue.

The first dinner in the series will feature Founder and CEO Laena McCarthy of Anarchy in a Jar. Before making jam, Laena worked at McMurdo Station in Alaska. Anarchy in a Jar now makes over 8 varieties of shelf-stable jam, jelly, marmalade, and mustard in Greenpoint and has been featured in the NY Times, Saveur, and The Martha Stewart Show.

Join us for dinner and hear more of Laena's story and her jam making. A three course farm to table dinner plus 1 beer per guest are included in the ticket price.

Dessert: Red Velvet Beet Cake with Creme Fraiche and Anarchy in a Jar Syrup
