Songwriters in the Round
After 5 strong and beautiful years, Lisa Redfern brings us the series finale of Songwriters in the Round, the event that brings three talented Maine songwriters to perform in an intimate, unplugged setting in Frontier's theatre for an evening of compelling songs and stories. For this final concert, Lisa invites Jud Caswell, Andre Villoch, and Ellen Tipper to join her.
Lisa Redfern Lisa is an award-winning singer-songwriter who just released her 10th solo recording (8th CD). This newest, "Once in a While", swings with 12 of Lisa's favorite jazz standards, accompanied by 6 piece jazz band. Lisa blends her roots in all forms of Americana and Roots music to create something unmistakably her own. For over 25 years, Lisa has brought joy and comfort to listeners of all ages. Livingston Taylor said of Lisa (after she opened for him), "Wow, I haven't heard a voice like yours in 30 years. You sound like the original women of folk." To order CDs go to www.lisaredfern.com
Jud Caswell Jud Caswell first hit the folk scene in 2004, earning a buzz of attention with a long string of wins at some of the most prestigious songwriting contests in the country. They say, "write what you know," so Jud has taken his backyard ballads and small-town yarns to stages from Texas to Oregon and back. "Jud Caswell is much more than a great singer and guitar player, Jud's songs take you into the storyteller's world with clear images and characters that come to life for the listener." - David Wilcox
André Villoch Famed for his dynamic vocal range and vivacious onstage wit and charm, André Villoch is an original. André draws on his background in opera and improvisational comedy for an unforgettable live music experience. "André is a sheer delight. A voice full of honey and cream, and a heart full of love and joy. What more could you ask for?" - Grammy Winner, Paul Sullivan
Ellen Tipper Just beyond the Camden Hills, Ellen Tipper makes her home in Appleton. As a songwriter, Ellen draws inspiration from her natural surroundings and her many travels around the world. Her beautiful second album "The Juggler" won her critical acclaim. In 2014 and 2010 she was a Kerrville New Folk finalist. Also in 2014, she was a winner of the Wildflower Festival Songwriting Contest.
