Roar Wines is a limited-production winery owned by the Franscioni family, who has deep roots in the Santa Lucia Highlands region. Both Gary and his wife Rosella grew up in California's agricultural heartland where Gary's family has farmed for over 100 years. They specialize in producing small lots of single vineyard Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. The 178 acres of vineyards under the Roar umbrella are either family-owned or owned in conjunction with Gary Pisoni of Pisoni Winery. Sitting only 15 miles from the Monterey Bay, the vineyards benefit from cool evenings, morning fog, strong winds, and a long growing season. All of the Roar wines are made right here in San Francisco, at one of the few "urban wineries" in the city!
