Slam Allen
Grammy nominated singer/songwriter & New York State Blues Hall of Fame Master Musician Inductee Slam Allen & his band live at Nash Arts Center.
American Showplace Music recording artist Slam Allen is the most dynamic and original soul and blues artist on the scene today! Think the energy and soul of Otis Redding with a blazing blues guitar by his side. JB Miller CEO & President of Empire Entertainment says, "Slam breathes new life into the blues. His music and performances will clearly be fresh for decades to come. For me, Slam Allen is both the roots and the future of the Blues!"
Slams credentials as an entertainer are vast and meaningful. Starting with growing up and playing drums for the family soul band "The Allen Brothers" to spending 9 years as the lead singer, lead guitar player and "Frontman" for the legendary harpist James Cotton for which he is credited in writing and singing all the songs on James' 2011 Grammy nominated comeback album "Giant." As a solo performer Slam has been honored as the recipient of the prestigious "Master Musician" award for the New York State Blues Hall of Fame and is the proud sponsor of custom guitars made by Gerhard's Guitarworks of Windham.NY.
Now on his own and internationally recognized as a seasoned touring veteran, Slam is dedicated to forging his own legacy in the soul and blues world. With four original CD's under his belt, a new release entitled "Feel These Blues" coming out in April of 2015, Slam is on time to bring back what was never gone in the music world and that is the love, and uplifting honesty people want in their musical experience.
There is nothing like a Slam Allen concert! Pick up on the feeling and feel his blues!
