HomeGrown Theatre's upcoming musical production, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON crams satirical comedy into a history lesson into an emo punk rock opera (drawing parallels to contemporary youth culture) to tell the story of the birth of the Democratic Party and our 7th President's rise to the highest office of the nation. Though the United States may have been founded on the rational principles of the Enlightenment, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson suggests that what really makes it run - then and now - is the crazy, mixed-up energy of enduring adolescence, and who better to lead this restless, appetite-driven eternal-teenager called America than a red-blooded maverick rock star?
An audacious blend of historical fact and complete bullshit, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON asks the question, is wanting to have a beer with someone reason enough to elect him? What if he's really, really hot?
