RomantiCom
Please join Life Coach Paula Langguth Ryan and Comedienne Debbie Scheer as we dig deep and laugh hard in an eight week workshop series called RomantiCom. Let's work together to get better at relationships.
FEBRUARY 10: Is it LOVE or "The Deal": How to Identify the Traps that Doom Your Relationships. So often we select our partners based on what we think we lack in our lives; the people we wish we were. That's why the sense that "opposites attract" seems so appealing at first. But when the bloom wears off, there's only one way to salvage a relationship based on The Deal. Tired of repeating the same old patterns in your relationships? This session will help you learn some different tools and help you discern whether it really is Love or The Deal. We'll also touch on all the remaining sessions in the series!
MARCH 10: Before Fingers Touch Wet Skin: How to Avoid The U-Haul Syndrome. Love at first sight is grand and those raging hormones can have us thinking this is "the One" before we ever have a chance to truly decide if the person we've met meets all our "deal-breaker" criteria. Once we get into bed, all bets are off. Come discover how to avoid the "after sex" hangover. And how to set yourself up for success with any future date of your dreams. Or how to extricate yourself gracefully from dating someone who isn't "The One."
APRIL 14: Why We Stay, Why We Want to Leave and What To Do About Both. Once you're in a relationship, your ego will truly start to mess with you. No matter how healthy a relationship is, your fears will rise to the surface and try and sabotage your happiness. On the flip side, an unhealthy relationship may seem very appealing because of other fears you have (fear of abandonment, fear of not deserving a truly loving relationship, etc.). You'll leave this session with some solid strategies for dealing with both!
MAY 12: Who Moved My Boundaries? Honoring Ourselves In Relationships (And Teaching Others How to Honor Us Too). Ever feel disrespected in a relationship? Ever give yourself away in a relationship just to keep the peace? Others learn to love us the way we love ourselves. During this session, you'll create a framework for figuring out why you move your boundaries and how you can set (or re-establish) them in a loving, yet firm way.
JUNE 9: The Heartbreak of Rejection: Why It MEANS NOTHING about you, but is ALL ABOUT you. You find the gal of your dreams, everything is firing on all cylinders, you've got great communication happening daily and then everything comes to a screeching halt and she moves into "let's be friends" land. Or worse, she starts to act as if you're a stalker rather than the dream lover she once said you were. This session you'll get equipped with rejection radar so you can identify what REALLY just happened, heal the wounded parts of you that got triggered and take any actions to improve your relationship skills in that area.
JULY 14: Getting Your Relationship Skills Off Life Support: How to Master Intimacy, Vulnerability and Communication. Both long and short term relationships can bring out all our fears around this holy trinity of skills. If your relationship suffers from a bad case of IVC blues, or you constantly find your relationships spiraling into the walls-up death spin, this session will help you identify and heal the root causes before they become terminal while also setting a foundation for a complete recovery.
AUGUST 11: Surviving The "Other Woman" Both Real or Virtual. It's said that an "emotional" affair is often more devastating than an actual physical one. Both, however, can push your "not good enough" buttons, and can erode your trust in love. Even when the "other woman" is electronic social media, the boob tube or the X-Box. This session, you'll learn how to deal with "the other woman" in your life, in ways that empower you so you can lovingly communicate your needs and desires. Plus, you'll gain strategies for healing the parts of you that are devastated so you can move on with joy and strength.
SEPTEMBER 8: Recognizing Your Right and Perfect Mate When She Drops the Glass Slipper. You say you're looking for Ms. Right. But you're so hung up on all the past Ms. Wrongs, or on avoiding being hurt again, that you've got your best blinders on. When the right and perfect gal does walk into your life, you want to be ready to release your fears and go boldly where you've never gone before. This session will give you the tools you need to bring your authentic self to every single date so any future mate gets to meet and love the real you.
Debbie Scheer: The comedy stylings of Debbie Scheer have been described as, "light-hearted and family friendly without losing that elusive hysterical edge. Debbie's comedic timing is naturally clever, while her punchlines show off her kind but provocative nature. She's dedicated to her laugh-craft and this shows tremendously on stage. As a single, lesbian, mom with two adorable sons, Debbie has some stories to tell. Not only has she lived through a series of fortunate events, but she's mastered the art of relaying the magic in what most might perceive as the mundane. She sets each scene perfectly, while weaving an emotional quilt that's one size fits all.
***You may sign up for individual workshops for $15 a piece or sign up for the entire series for only $99
