Strange Attractors
Bell and Buoy Physical Theater is Portland's newest experimental, contemporary movement company exploring the edges of Butoh, physical theater, modern dance, improvisation and performance art. Choreographers Hilary Chapman and Ren Morrill lead the charge to bring more experimental performance to Portland with Bell and Buoy's first outing, Strange Attractors, explores the relationship between fear, barriers, ideals and desires. With a mixture of mythology, psychology, poetry, lights, sound, movement and ritual, Strange Attractors seeks to viscerally plumb the audience's psyches with movement that questions the role desire plays in lives and in our hearts. Strange Attractors will also feature collaborations with the spectacular Portland-based ariel dance of Apparatus Dance Theater and Portland's own (but now Brooklyn based) gender-bending, performance-warrior of glamarchy, Goldie Peacock!
