Event
in violet, Degree Of Arc & Wozniak
We are delighted to be working with the great folk from Step Sideways to bring you a night of wonderful music!
Headlining we give you the stunning in violet!
in violet is a rock/electronic act currently based in london. the outfit blends natural and acoustic energies with abrasive digital soundscapes in a large field of space. in violet are currently rehearsing old music and new music. They released their debut album 'opal' in 2013 through cognitive dissonance recordshand-crafted, signed limited edition of 100 copies. the album is a slow-burning yet compelling collection of tracks which sidle quietly into your brain and set up residence; they tangle around each other in amongst your subconscious and take you, not by force, but by sweet-talking stealth. Inhabiting a musical world that can only be described as post industrial, and taking influence from bands such as Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle, yet at the same time sounding like neither, in violet seamlessly blend heavy guitars and delicate, disembodied vocals to produce stark, brutalist soundscapes occasionally leavened by moments of stunning beauty. if this is industrial, it's the abandoned warehouse that occasionally appears in your dreams, full of shifting shapes and scenes that are almost familiar. Before them we are chuffed to bits to bring you Degree Of Arc! The Surrey based instrumental Post-Rock 4 piece released their critically acclaimed first EP 'Circles' in 2012. In December 2013 they released their first full length record 'Halls In Hospitals', which was one of my albums of the year, and they bring an intense and atmospheric live show coupled with some quite beautiful music! They really are a band you need to listen to and see!
Opening the night for us are Wozniak. The Edinburgh based 4 piece's music has been described as 'cinematic but passionate at the same time, with all four members... feeding into a climactic collision of distorted guitar riffs and hypnotic drumming.' They had a busy year last year with running first ever crowdfinding campaign, recorded, mixed and released their Pikes Peak EP, featured on radio and blogs all over the world and played a few gigs too. And then there was the release of their single 'Five Star' towards the end of the year! They have a fearsome live reputation, so you really don't want to miss them...
And if all this wasn't enough, we have the mighty Chaos Theory to pleasure your ears before, between and after with a DJ set!
You know what you need to do...
