"GOLDEN BOY OF THE BLUE RIDGE" CD RELEASE PARTY

New York, NY - Prospect Theatre announces a CD Release Party for GOLDEN BOY OF THE BLUE RIDGE, a new bluegrass musical by Prospect's resident writer Peter Mills. Produced by Tumble Dry Music, Inc. GOLDEN BOY is Mills' first original cast album. All are invited to come celebrate and raise money to support non-profit Prospect Theater on June 30, 2010 at 7:30pm, Rosie O'Grady's Restaurant, 149 West 46th Street, New York, City.

The event will feature a performance by the original GOLDEN BOY cast singing selections from the show. Additional entertainment will be provided by cast member Scott Wakefield (www.scottwakefield.com) performing his own original songs, and the evening will be rounded out by Melody Allegra and Friends and their Bluegrass Jamboree.

General admission tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and include a CD ($10 is tax deductible). VIP tickets are available for $50 each and in addition to a CD includes a reserved table seat and complimentary drink ($25 of a VIP ticket is tax deductible). Drink and appetizer specials all night for all guests!

An adaptation of J.M. Synge's controversial classic The Playboy of the Western World, set in the foothills of America's Appalachia, GOLDEN BOY is the tale of an unlikely hero, a backwoods romance and a slapdash murder. GOLDEN BOY features a score by Peter Mills and direction by Cara Reichel.

Prospect Theater Company is a non-profit organization composed of theater artists from all disciplines who share an interest in pursuing excellence and innovation. The company was found in 1998 by five graduates of Princeton University and now the membership includes a network of more than 700 emerging and established artists.
