Frederick Douglass was born a slave on a plantation in Maryland in 1818. He became a leader in the abolitionist movement, author, orator, social reformer, statesman, and a visionary for generations of Americans, black and white, male and female, native American and immigrant, ever since. At the end of his life Frederick Douglass said that the discussion was not over, that his transformation from slave to man that was his life, was not finished, that it mustn't end with him. This production is a continuation of that discussion, the becoming of Frederick Douglass, the becoming of America. Don't miss this is one-man show about one of the most prominent figures in American history.
