Event
Pepperwood Birding for Beginners!
Join Moe Flannery from the California Academy of Sciences and Giel Witt, Pepperwood Steward, for an introduction to identifying birds found at the Pepperwood Preserve. We will begin the day with a presentation in the classroom learning the basics of bird identification and the use of binoculars. Then we will practice these newly acquired skills in the field by identifying fall birds on the preserve. No prior birding experience required. Though we will carpool to various areas of the preserve, some hiking off-trail over uneven terrain is required. Hiking boots are suggested and participants should bring binoculars, appropriate clothing, water, and a snack.
