Food Lit Club (July, August, September)
Here is the third 3-month installment of our wildly popular food lit bookclub. When purchasing tickets, please note the group and corresponding time slot you are signing up for.
Here's how the club works: -By signing up you commit to reading the book of the month (see below) and attending the club meeting for three months. At the end of three months you can continue on in the group or choose to give up your spot to a new comer. -Each group has a moderator who we encourage to send discussion topics/questions to throughout the month as you read the book. -All club meetings take place at 18 Reasons on the 4th Saturday of the month. Group A meets from 1-3:30 and Group B meets 4-6:30. Groups tend to organize some sort of rotating snack duty or potluck system (there are no snacks or beverages provided by 18 Reasons). -You can choose to pay only to participate or you can purchase the books with your sign-up. If you purchase books, they are available for pick-up from Omnivore Books (http://www.omnivorebooks.com) and 20% of the proceeds will go to benefit the work of 18 Reasons.
Here are the book selections for this installment:
July: An Omelette and a Glass of Wine Elizabeth David August: The Town that Food Saved by Ben Hewitt September: My Garden by Jamaica Kincaid
