The Heart of the Harp: An Evening of Music, Lore and Song
Celebrated Celtic harpist and local treasure Chris Caswell appears at the new OCA in concert, with a special guests Lisa Lynne and Aryeh. Chris Caswell is one of the world's finest players and builders of the Celtic Harp. A true Celtic bard, he is a natural raconteur, historian, musicologist, and teacher. During the seventies Chris served as a seminal influence in re-introducing the Celtic harp to American players. It has been suggested that he helped provide the blueprint for Loreena McKennitt and a host of others in the creation of what's commonly regarded as North American Celtic music today." Special guest Lisa Lynne is a Windham Hill artist (now on Sony) who is the highest-ever Billboard charting Celtic harpist in the U.S.; special guest Aryeh has released 15 recordings and melds the folk and Celtic harp traditions. This will be a very special evening and OCA is truly privileged to host these world-renowned performers. Donation $20, $15 seniors/students. Refreshments will be available for purchase, all proceeds benefiting the Center. Reservations are highly recommended for this performance, as it is likely to sell out.
