We've got wildflowers (despite the drought and the warm winter)!
Celebrate the return of spring with a vintage train ride at the Western Railway Museum. In April, the Museum will use its historic electric railway equipment on the "Scenic Limited."
Now in its 14th year, the Scenic Limited runs on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from April 1 - April 29 at 11:00am, 12:30pm, and 2:00pm. The train takes visitors on an hour-long, 11-mile round trip ride.
Passengers admire panoramic views of hillsides and fields populated with native wildflowers such as poppies, goldfields, and lupine. The views change weekly and Museum docents are on board to point out whatever happens to be blooming along the way.
Travel First Class in the restored 1914 Salt Lake and Utah Railroad parlor observation car #751, enjoying cookies and lemonade. The car has been lovingly restored by volunteers.
Tickets include Museum admission; the Rail Car Display House; the new interactive "Traction Lab" energy and transportation exhibit; access to the Laflin Park Picnic Grounds; and parking.
Details: Prices are $17 for adults, $16 for seniors 65 and over, $14 for youth ages 2 - 14, and just $6 for Museum Members. Discounted tickets require an ID to establish age (seniors and youth), or a valid Museum Membership Card.
Trains depart ON TIME so please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure to pick up your tickets at will-call. Tickets not claimed by 10 minutes before departure may be released.
