Sal Calanni in "Real Job, Real Paycheck" at Wharf Room Comedy
Update: Laurie Kilmartin from Last Comic Standing will be a guest each night with Sal Calanni!!
Sal Calanni grew up in Cleveland and became a bio-med lab assistant cleaning rodent feces. Feeling oddly unfulfilled, he packed up his rusty Chevy hooptie, drove beyond the farms of the Midwest and headed for California. He had no job and no place to stay.
His journey ended in San Francisco where he began performing stand up comedy. He has appeared all over the Bay Area working at the Punch Line Comedy Clubs, Cobb's Comedy Club, the San Jose Improv and he was also the weekly host at the Sea Biscuit. He has worked with some great performers such as Dave Chappelle, Dave Attell, Bill Burr, Charlie Murphy, and many more.
He starred in the films "Comedy Ain't for the Money," "Filter," and has starred in, co-wrote, and co-produced the film, "Lucifer's Crewcut" which includes such talent as Maria Bamford, Arj Barker, Jello Biafra, and GWAR. He was a founding member of the popular San Francisco based comedy sketch group, Tossing Alice and the indie punk/grunge band The Hacks.
Sal's comedy paints pictures to audiences expressing his opinions about race, politics, life, and anything else that should probably never be discussed over a bottle of whiskey.
