Cut Crawlers
Isodoc Dance Group was formed by Jeff Docimo, with the choreographic intention to explore the fusion of contemporary and urban dance. The group is made up of 5 dancers with backgrounds from NYU Tisch, Marymount, and New World School of the Arts. The majority of the group met while attending the Springboard danse program in Montreal, which is where the seed of the collaborative project began. While following a development of the fusion of styles and method creation, the group's first work, 'Cut Crawlers', will explore how we as individuals absorb, and relate to modern day social conflicts. The piece calls to attention the differences in self versus self, and self versus group reactions. 'Cut Crawlers' also aims to question how the decisions we make in the present might truly parallel our subconscious desires for the future. The audience will follow the inception of an idea and the weight of decisions, as they pool down and affect more, or less, than anticipated. Isodoc Dance Group will be performing 'Cut Crawlers' and excerpts of the work in February and March of 2015 as well as the January showing at CPR.
